STAR Program Homework Policy
·
Students are responsible for writing down
homework assignments in their Assignment Book in a clear enough manner for
parents to understand the required task.
Homework may entail such activities as completing unfinished class work,
rereading assigned material, studying for tests, working on skills, reading
novels, researching, and working on individual projects.
·
Students are expected to complete homework
and turn it in on time. Late work will
be accepted, however, students lose 10% each day the assignment is late.
·
One day for each day of excused absence
will be allowed for completion of missed assignments. Extensions for missed assignments due to
extenuating circumstances will be up to the discretion of each teacher.
·
Please request work for your child early
in the morning when you call the office to report an absence. If you do not contact the office, the absence
goes on the child’s record as being unexcused. We are happy to gather work for your child,
but this is a time-consuming process.
Our planning periods are in the morning, so it is very difficult to meet
requests for work received after 12:30.
You may arrange for a sibling or neighbor child to bring home this
work. It is also possible to pick up the
work from the office during or after school.
If you ask for work, please be sure to pick it up. Your child will benefit from keeping up with
his/her classmates.
